The NHS recognises that a 28-day repeat prescribing interval makes the best possible balance between patient convenience, good medical practice and minimal drug wastage.
The default supply period for repeat medications is as follows:
Schedule 2 & 3 controlled drugs will be limited to a maximum supply of thirty days.
Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made in person, online or by post
If you do not have an online user ID code, please request one from the reception team (you may be required to show some ID to complete this).
When you have received this information please click on the above patient access link and follow the instructions.
A medication review allows a structured, critical examination of a patient’s medicines with the objective of reaching an agreement with the patient about treatment, optimising the impact of medicines, minimising the number of medication related problems, and reducing waste.
When you require a medication review this will most likely be done with our Clinical Pharmacist. Clinical Pharmacist’s are experts in medicines and are there to work directly with you as part of the GP team to make sure your medicines help you to get better and stay well.
There are occasions where a medication review can be done by a clinician viewing your medical records and does not require a discussion. It is important that if patient’s have any queries or concerns regarding their medication, they contact the practice at their earliest convenience.
If you know you will have to pay for a lot of NHS prescriptions it may be cheaper to buy a prescription prepayment certificate (PPC)
Please allow two full working days between requesting and collecting your medication.

Due to staff illness the pharmacy is currently short staffed. Therefore, we are warning our patients that there may be a delay in assembling your prescriptions.
Temporarily, we will be moving from a 48-hour turnaround from ordering your prescriptions to a 72-hour turnaround.
All patients with a mobile phone number on their records should receive a text message when their prescription is ready, please do not arrive to collect your prescription before you receive this text message. For those patients without a mobile phone, we request that you leave it a minimum of 72-hours before collecting your prescriptions.
We very much appreciate your cooperation.
